when i found myself on planet earth
and realized what it was worth
i wondered soon how long would be
the life of lands of brave and free
who closed their minds and shouted loud
paid heed to only strong and proud
believed their ways were always right
and justified beliefs with might
forgetting their fathers fled persecution
to make reasoned justice their solution
ah, closed minds are always certain
but reason is not shrill
